I am curious as to what you all do when it comes to the items that go in your food bag when hung ( or barrel) at camp?
We typically hang all the food (of course), trash, kitchen utensils (plates, cups, stove, etc) and leave very little down around camp.
Just a little curious as to what others do, thanks!

"why would you hang kitchen stuff?"
Mainly cause I thought that was the kind of the protocol and is really the main reason why I am asking... to see what others do :-)
I guess I thought that the stove, dishes, etc scent would be an attractant?
Lightening the load that goes up is a goal!

I don't hang, but that's beside the point. I wouldn't hang the dishes, stove, cooking utensils, etc. I would hang the food and trash. Some things that I think are often overlooked are things like toothpaste, so my toiletries go in with the food as well.
I have often wondered about items used for fishing because of the fish smell, and especially things like scented baits (or live bait for that matter), but they never seemed to be bothered.

We, like others hang when going for over 3 nights, it includes food, trash and toiletries.
3 nights or less we are able to fit it in our Counter Assault Keg.

I use a barrel and also put toiletries in the barrel.
I also remind everyone myself before bed to check my day pack/Thwart bag as well as pockets for wrappers and un eaten food and gorp. Mice love getting into day packs and they can chew trhough cordura easily.

My groups are a little anal.
We don't usually hang....mostly we just walk the pack into the woods and leave it off the beaten path. But, we do put all dishes, food, garbage, and toiletries in the "food bag." We also take off clothes worn during the day while eating, and wear "tent clothes" only once we head into the tent. (a separate set of sleep clothes)
Better safe than sorry is our motto.

We use Ursacks for food, toiletries, and garbage. This last trip was a big group and so we added a blue barrel and the toiletries and garbage wound up in separate dry bags that just went on the ground. What I like best about the Ursacks is that the food is split up in multiple containers and we make sure they are spread out in at least two groupings so that we are unlikely to lose it all at once. What I like second best about the Ursacks is that they are not popular in the BWCA and so the animals aren't used to them. But, on the other hand, I sort of want to see the guy who developed them do well and so give them a look.

food, trash, toiletries, cooking stuff (which is packed in my food pack anyway), and my day pack, which has food in it while we travel during the day, all go up every night.

This year was the first year I didn't hang a bear bag. Some of my friends I went with have never hung a bag. They said that the damage done to trees (and to canoe partners) sometimes isn't worth the trouble. They just packed all food, trash, toiletries etc into one bag and tucked that under and up into our flipped canoe (we had aluminum). We would leave a pot and tilted pan on top of the canoe to act as a warning sign. The canoes were far away from the tent area, though, just in case.
