Well written - I've often thought about bushwacking to those little untraveled lakes. Now I'll have to try.

Well, here's hoping I never run into good Ol' Josh in the wilderness, I like to return from trips with all my skin, hair and teeth. My apologies. It was still a hell of a trip.

Very well written detailed report, sounds like you guys are true survivors. I will try the crayfish rig next Spring when we go. Why do people block portages like you mentioned? I've seen it too and you would think they would realize the inconvenience they cause others. Oh well, maybe they will read this. Thanks for sending the report and photo's, lets those of us that enjoy the area feel like we are there.

Yeah...that last fish picture actually got squeezed when i cropped it--that's actually my friend Josh holding the stringer and the northern in that last picture. The size is deceiving b/c I resized the pictures to get a montage. I'm about 5'7" 145 lbs. and Josh is actually bigger than me, about 5'10" 180 lbs.
thanks for the comments though, i'm sure Josh won't take offense ;o) he's a pretty sensitive guy, for a wilderness trekker... :o)

Sounds like a very rewarding excursion. During your report, I was thinking "Wow, a couple guys out there beating their way through the woods, how utterly masculine." Then when I view the fish montage at the end, I see this demure young lady holding up a stringer of fish. This really blew my mind. I'm impressed. Keep up the good work.

I really enjoyed your report...the discriptions were awesome; you must of journaled daily. Sounded like quite the workout. Thank you and definitely appreciate the photos as they really help bring ya along with.
