08/06/2004 12:24PM excellent report, i enjoyed it thoroughly, as i have been through parts of it before (moose river up through oyster). just a side note for future reference, as far as i know, there is no size minimum for northerns in minnesota. there are a few border lakes/rivers that medium to larger fish must be released, but no minimums. but eating northern also depends on how sharp the fillet knife is and how many bones you like to pick out of your teeth! glad you had a good trip. eglath |

08/06/2004 10:57AM Outstanding report Beemer-too bad the one time you see the USFS is this time. I have travelled your route a couple of times and enjoyed it. I had our second youth group (the one I did not lead) go this way in July but they went through Rocky, Gebe to LLC before heading south to Moose River. Did you see any Moose??? I have seen Moose each trip in LIS or Moose including this year when our group headed in Moose over to Mudro through Crooked. We saw our Moose at the last portage before we entered Agnes coming up from Nina Moose. Large Cow right by the portage entry. |
