07/03/2023 09:18PM Great trip report. It’s wild that what looks like a simple narrows on the Chrismar map could be so dangerous. |

06/21/2023 04:59PM What a great trip report Bastard2! We are flying into Clay with a Beaverhouse exit 13 day trip starting July 6. Traveling a lot of your route westward. Thanks for the info! |

06/15/2023 04:15PM Thanks! I’m guessing the more frequently used areas of the park have portages that have been maintained or used, so it shouldn’t be ubiquitous. I think the provincial park website has an overlay of the 2021 fires. Update: Found it! https://www.ontarioparks.com/pdf/maps/quetico/Quetico2021FiresMap.pdf |

06/15/2023 04:03PM Great report, nice photos--thanks for sharing your story and thanks for the life preserver reminder. Sorry to hear that the badly burned areas are hard to find portages through--we plan to portage out of the NE corner of Sarah in August, and were wondering about the 2021 fire's impact on portage trails.
