From reading reports, it seems the greatest lesson is to be flexible with your plans, and you got to stay at the nice campsite, two portages later!" 30Smoke - A agree, a friend of mine once said "Blessed are the flexible for they shall never be broken." |

Two things I would suggest, always carry maps of the aera where your going, and always pack at least one day of food extra [meals in a pouch don't weigh much and are pretty good tasteing] I always carry one extra day for every week I'm out in the bush. Nice pictures. Sounds like your wife is a good "tripping" partner best to keep her around for 50 or 60 years. FRED" FRED - I immediately purchased a set of Voyaguer maps that cover the whole BWCA. I learn my lesson and will never do that again. As far as the food goes I have always carried extra food, like you said, except that one time. I will make sure that never happens again. Thanks for your tips and I agree about my wife being a good "tripping" partner. I'm going to do my best to keep her as long as I can. |
