05/10/2023 08:44AMPinetree: "Crossman was a legend in Fisheries biology in North America. Very true. The book also lists lake trout in Kawnipi and Crooked Lakes. I've never heard of anyone ever catching trout from those lakes. And I've tried too lol |

05/08/2023 09:20PM Crossman was a legend in Fisheries biology in North America. Smallmouth bass have spread throughout Quetico since that book was written, Yes they were already established-but and still spreading. |

I thought it was worth repeating the information more currently on the site. There was also a DNR report which did the same thing, but I can no longer find it. It does indeed contain plenty of nice size smallmouth bass. I'm not aware of any accurate way to know what fish are in each lake in Quetico other than reports/consensus. A little digging around on this site can find fishing information on all but the most remote of lakes in the Q. |

I noticed it didn’t list any smallmouth in Mack, but I’ve read here that it contains tons of trophy smallmouth. |

05/05/2023 09:01PM John, check your email. I sent you a copy of the 2018 information that I had received from park biologist at the time, Brian Jackson. This may be the DNR (MNR) report you were thinking of. |

05/03/2023 07:42PM If you want additional data on fish in a given lake in Ontario you can find it at the Fish ON -Line, link below: Fish ON-Line Also the PP site lists the specific species in each lake, but I think these data are pulled from the link above. Michael Furtman’s book also lists species in each lake. There isn’t the same level of info/detail on Ontario lakes as there is on MN lakes (lakefinder). |
