@Howard: I’ll check that campsite out on Russell.

@sns: We booked through Voyageur but unsure who exactly it is. Already got our RABCs. Also figuring that amount of time with maybe a day layover on Kawnipi to hit those magic fishing spots.

Neat - so who is flying you? I believe the aviation outfits that would fly from the US to Quetico stopped flying for a couple years - glad that's starting up again. Do you land at Sand Point to clear customs?

Regardless, great trip. Depending on Solo v slow group v fast group, I would personally be figuring 4.5 to 6 travel days to cover that distance.

There’s a little island on the western half of Russell which I found to be very pleasant, scenic, and good fishing.

Looking for any recommendations or comments on the following route that my buddy and I will make this June. Flying in to Nym and meeting a tow at American Point PM of Day 7. We've done previous trips all the way up to McKenzie and Kawa Bay via Wawiag but never farther north. Any thoughts or chalk talk would be appreciated...and fun. PS I'm aware the Maligne winds through this route so no need to tell me. ;)
