You'll get there in a day no problem. Travelling solo & taking 4-5 trips across the portage while having extended portages/bushwhacking due to dangerous high-water on the river from Knife to Birch, I made it from a campsite on Birch to one on Knife partway to Thunder Point in about 6-8 hours (left just before noon & arrived at site just before sunset). That said, Knife campsites can fill up fairly early, especially those on the west side. The Birch to Knife route will be easier portages, Ensign to Vera & Vera to Knife are, while rewarding, challenging portages.

Edit: I misread Sucker for Splash... The furthest you can get a tow would be the point north of the Sucker-Birch portage, though you'll probably go to the portage for your drop off point.

In 2020 two of my daughters and I took a tow to the Sucker portage. We paid a little extra to get a sunrise tow and left by 5:00 am and we made it to site 1449 by noon. Three paddlers in our SR Q 18.5 and we are not fast paddlers but we also didn't linger much along the way as we wanted to avoid afternoon winds as much as possible.

We spent the first three nights of our 16-night trip at this site and enjoyed the area very much. Wishing you an awesome adventure too!

How long does it take to get to Thunder Point on Knife Lake, from EP 25 Moose Lake. Here's the assumptions:

* take a tow from EP 25 as far as we can
(side question, would that be the short portage between Sucker and Birch?)

* 2 guys, average paddlers

* no head or tail winds that would greatly effect timing ( I know, risky assumption)

* double portaging

We've done a few shorter routes, but this is kind of a "bucket list" trip for us, ultimately ending up in SAK. Thanks for you input, much appreciated.
