Great video report. Enjoyed it, as ever. I do also cherish my lightweight summer set from Marty. Having never seen one myself in the BWCA, I especially appreciated some of the best moose footage I've ever seen.

It was a brilliant moment for sure. Paddling to east portage on Snipe through the narrows. Early morn and water like glass. Quiet. The come around the bend and there was the bull moose just munching away. Relaxed. I was pretty close. Shaking with excitement at first. He'd to quit filming to take a few calming breaths. We hung out enjoying each other. As I paddled away he was still in the water eating.

Just paddled again for a 7 day solo. Such a time. Had a stellar moose encounter.
Love those short backpacking trips they call portages whilst wearing a canoe as a hat.
Rented a Northstar Magic canoe at Rockwood. Bunked at Tuscarora first night.
Lively wee canoe.
Great to meet Andy at Tuscarora. What a scrumptious breakfast.

Route was from Missing Link to Snipe (favorite lake!) to Cross Bay, Rib, Lower George, Karl, Long Island, Gordon, Frost, Cherokee then back.

Slept in Superior Hammock Starlite Elite, JRB 40º Shenandoah Ultralite TQ, Wilderness Logics 40º UQ. Superior Gear Shelter. First time using it and really liked it!

Slept deeply. Paddled goodly. Fished poorly. Ate majestically.
Whooooooo Buddy)))))

They are hangers too and use Amok hammocks. Jon’s latest solo 5 day trip is really good. He was catching Brookies and big fat walleyes in a beautiful river system. It’s a good one.

Seems like he found a new passion. He posts on other you tube trip reports like Lost Lakes (Jon and Erin) and Jim Baird. I have no doubt that he will hook up with a few of those Canadian trippers on YouTube. A trip with Jim and Ted Baird with Shug would be very entertaining.

Jon & Erin’s channel is phenomenal. If anyone is looking for some awesome northern Ontario canoeing content, check them out (Lost Lakes).
