I have very little wisdom other than it is easy to see when someone else is being a jerk. The challenge is to realize when I am being the jerk and try to change that behavior. It really was an awesome trip, and the group dynamics were not much different than any other wilderness trip I have taken. Every group goes through the same stages in one form or another. The trick is to be prepared for the experience. |

I find that these kinds of difficult trips help me see my own faults. Which, thankfully I feel absolutely no urge or guilt about fixing - just nice to know what they all are. |

Wasn't implying that. It's just that you gave such a nice honest accounting of yourself I was hoping for some grand words words of wisdom for the rest of us, since we all go through similar things. Anyway, great report, and it really looked like an awesome trip! |

FWIW, I needed a webpage I can track to get my Google Analytics certification. So I decided to post what I had. It's been a crazy year since that trip! |

quote ECpizza: "it is easy to see when someone else is being a jerk. The challenge is to realize when I am being the jerk and try to change that behavior." Great quote. Especially important as the trip leader. It's tricky balancing each group member's interests. There's an important distinction between a fishing trip and a canoe trip with some fishing. |
