Thanks Ben for the great report and photos! It sounds like you overcame some obstacles and came out OK. You are really an Ironman when it comes to tripping and Bernice is a wonder dog.

Now that the short trip is over you can look forward to the 40 day one coming up.

Great Job!

Enjoyed the read. So wet! Weather conditions in August likely better. One can hope.
Nothing test gear better than being out in-the-field. Especially in those conditions. Would like to know what you have choosen as rain gear replacement. Perhaps I'll find out in your marathon 40-day trip report.

edit: your writing style is fine, btw.

Wow! Outstanding trip, Congratulations on it. A good work-up for sure for your longer trip later this year.
I am curious about the person that had the expired passport. What happened when he came back into the US?
I wish I had the vacation to be able to take a trip like this. Maybe in about ten years I will.
Thanks for the report.

Well Ben, GREAT report...I will talk to you in person about this, but from the sounds of things, it was a bit of a "mind challenge" with the weather, and the blow down and all. Congratulations!

Can't wait to visit
