The boundary waters saved my life.
I have a religious feeling about them.
It is difficult to make many people understand why I feel the way I do. I have tried a few times. But usually, I just get a sideways look.

Most of us zealots get that look. Thanks for the report.

Some pics were taken. When we dumped, Meghan's camera was ruined, so those were lost. My sister did take some photos, but she hasn't been able to find them. I had some, but they were destroyed in a basement flood at my house back in the 90's. So I only have the pictures in my mind.

For any one who read my trip report before right now, please re-read. I decided to put it ALL in. I think the additional material gives a better idea why I have a religious feeling for this place and why I feel that my life was saved by my experience.

Anyway, thanks for looking.

Nice. I like to read and hear how people "got hooked" on the BW! Thanks for sharing your story.

Very enlightening report Jim. The Boundary Waters changed my outlook on life too. Even though my first trip wasn't until age 53, I have no regrets.

I get it - my first trip was also in 1978 as part of a high school trip to the Q. My "enlightenment" was more gradual, but I remember it first dawn on me up there...

Thanks for sharing.
