Nice report. We live in the UP in marquette and have been to Sylvania a few times. We like Whitefish lake because it has a good walleye population. I think the campsites in the BWCA are genearally more appealing than the ones in the Sylvania tract, but its nice to have such a place close to us. Thanks for the report

Doug, sounds like a nice time.
I spent a night in Sylvania on my way to the BW in September. My first visit to Sylvania. I camped about 10 minutes from the car. It's a different experience than the Boundary Waters. I plan to go again and explore and fish a little.

Sylvania certainly has a feel all it's own. It's a nice area not overly spoiled by to many sites. I did a solo trip there in July 09 and had a wonderful time. Yes, it's nice to bring luxuries like cold beer and steaks.
