I've noticed plenty of great discussion on the culinary virtues of cooking with Dutch ovens on this site. Does anyone have experience using a Dutch Oven to cook something directly from the frozen state---like we cook frozen pizzas in our conventional ovens? This question pertains specifically to winter camping when going through the steps of thawing raw food that froze incidentally on the trip in and then cooking it is simply too energy intensive and time-consuming. I was considering preparing some hearty meals at home, freezing them (or letting mother nature do that herself), and then cooking them in the DO....perhaps calzones, pasties, enchiladas, apple crisp, or something along those lines.
