I also recommend Wild Berries & Fruits of Minnesota, Wisconsin, & Michigan as a field guide book to bring along. Not everything in there will show up in the BWCA, but there is a lot. Have fun! Plants are one of my favorite things to learn and find on trips. |

I know of the book called "canoe country flora: plants and trees of the north woods and boundary waters" by mark stensaas. I have read that book and loved it. However, I found the drawn pictures to be less helpful than actual photos would have been. I am not a botanist, and do not have any educational background in this field. I am wondering if anyone knows of a printed resource I could take with me to the BWCA to identify and learn about plants while I am actually seeing them. Thank you in advance. |
