We are interested in taking our daughters, ages 10 and 9 to Quetico. We took them to McAree lake last summer. Fishing was fair, but they were more interested in swimming. We would like to find a lake that has good swimming beaches along with good fishing. We are also concerned about portaging long distances. We heard that Quetico Lake has nice beaches, how is the fishing? Do you know about this lake or one that would fit our needs? Thanks for any information you can give us.

In the BW, there is a nice sandy beach at a camp on the NE side of Parent Lake near the portage to Disapointment. Good smallie fishing in Parent as well. There is decent hiking around this site as well. Your entry point would be into Snowbank Lake, Parent Lake is 1/4 mile portage.

I have never been to the Quetico, but I hear the fishing is good.
