That means they are busy . taken. No room in the inn.

Ok, just got off the phone with the ranger station.

Evidently, it is just that busy this year.

I don't remember it being this busy last year.

hi all,
Tried searching on this, but didn't find anything obvious.

Anyone know what happened to the Duncan permits for Sept? I don't see any available, at all. Not that they are all taken, it's like they are no longer available.

Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks!

Looks like there is something going on with these lakes (East Bearskin, Duncan, Clearwater).

Thanks!

Looks like Clearwater is the same. No permits available.

These are just 2 permit per-day lakes, so I'm not surprised. September is a popular time for a lot of reasons, but those lakes in particular sell out quickly because the scenery in the Fall is pretty amazing on the North side of the Gunflint. Not that the rest of the BWCA isn't, but all those lakes are pretty special. I was lucky enough to snag a John Lake permit for later in September which I'm pretty stoked about.

In checking the permit website, there are other permits available in Sept besides Duncan. Turn on permit alerts as well so if one opens up you can grab it.
