Would that require two separate entry permits? You’d be leaving the bwca boundary to get to the outfitter and rent a canoe.

Fishing Clearwater. Not great for anything but we’ve had some luck with lake trout in early june. Imagine it’s tougher in September.

I've done this trip once before but wanted to add in some canoe rental on Clearwater. Plan is hike to South lake and camp (assuming its in better shape than a few years ago), head to Rose Lake and camp, then to daniels and camp. From there to Clearwater to rent a canoe and spend a few days on the lake before calling it a trip and heading back.

Couple of questions: Is South Lake still a blown down mess or have they finally cleaned it up? Any issues along that section of the trail these days?

My understanding is Clearwater is not the best lake to fish, but is it worth trying? Looking to start 6/21 for a max of 8 days.

Was in that area a couple times last year.

Both times I did stretches of the BRT. Rose Lake area and, Topper Lake to Sock Lake. Can't speak to any other sections but, these areas were all clear and open; with unmistakable evidence of recent trail clearing.
