Did you make these from raw tyvek or did you use fed ex/ups/usps/etc envelopes turned inside out? I wonder if just the envelopes with a binder clip might not be an even less labor option - not as nice as yours of course.

Yes, an envelope. Not necessarily turned inside out. I did that to some but not to others. The auditors at my work say I have to be the one opening the mail even though I'm not the assistant (because I don't deal with money in my duties) and I save up the Tyvek envelopes routinely for recycling...but instead of recycling these, I reused them instead.


Binder clip is an okay idea, but we were really cramming stuff into our packs and they could come off. Folding a bit and securing with duct tape would work, too.

I made stuff sacks out of Tyvek envelopes. I loved using them! Here is a link to a thread where I showed them off.
