This new feature, to me, makes Zoleo the best PLB communicator hands down. See the link in this post. If you need medical help, but non-emergency, you can get help directly from the Zoleo and your cell phone app. This really helps with those "stay and play vs exfil" decisions, as well as how to treat certain non emergency situations. The other thing I like is that they send training materials/emails at least once a month. You can run a "test" of the SOS service, as well as practice texting the medical staff.
I realize that to get full use out of the Zoleo you need a phone. But all our guys use their cell phones for gps purposes, as well as to interface with fish finders like Deeper.
Lastly, Zoleo gives you an actual phone number. Anyone can just text the phone number to reach you. You don't have to open an app. Has weather and tracking as well

Good to know. I bought a Zoleo last year and it worked well enough for a few texts and weather. Hopefully I never need the Medical/Evac features, but it brings piece of mind knowing they are available.

thats great information. i often wondered why that type of service was not offered before. there are probably many extractions that could be avoided with some medical guidance.
i just got a zoleo for christmas so i have not used it yet. thx for providing this new info.
