Thanks for the kind words. It is imperfect, as are all my quilts. I love the colors in this quilt, and think it's perfect for a 19 year old amazingly athletic young woman, whom I held when she was a tiny baby. I'm now working on finishing a quilt I started 2 years ago!
I'm glad to bring back memories for you M1. However I did this quilt totally on the machine. I do some quilting by hand too, but they are usually much smaller, and applique, like a picture.
I'm looking forward to starting another applique this summer...the campsite challenge on the Boundary Waters School thread.

Thanks for sharing. This brings back memories of my mom sitting on our couch on a cold winter day quilting. She would usually start late fall and finalli complete it some time in the early spring. wow thats a lot of work. it looks beautiful by the way, thanks again. Anthony
