The solo BeaV expedition around Alaska is must viewing by any person who loves adventure. It still boggles my mind that he did that. Incredible footage.

It was BeaV's wish to only have them available for a limited time. CanoeKev and I teamed up (with BeaV's blessings) to make them available . I'm happy to set them up again, but only with BeaV's permission"

That makes sense. I think I remember that a documentary was going to be done?? So keeping the footage for that is a good idea.

Yep! BeaV just gave me permission to repost them. I hope to be able to do that in the next couple of days. It may take me a little organizational time, but hang in there.

Thanks, BeaV!

Thanks BWP for this insight. I was wondering why there was a bunch of internet interest in my trip again- now I know.

Found the link to the replay: replay

I did the same kind of research with his sections of the chandalar upstream and the koyukuk (probably murdered the spellings.). Wild stuff.

I could not confirm this information, so listen at your own risk and blame my sister if it's in error.

Enjoy!

Fyi the radio station did confirm that they are rebroadcasting his interview at 7 p.m. Alaska time or 10 p.m. Central Time.

That said every hour of those videos is well worth viewing, and definitely once is not enough.

If i recall, the videos BeaV released were rather sparse during the Iliamna portion of the paddle. Understandable as he was in the home stretch and trying to make a family event. But I found researching that lake fascinating.

I attended Bryan Brown "Solo down the Yukon" at the Outdoor expo in April. Beav's adventure was way tougher than what he did. Beav was a lot more humble about his trip as well... as nice as I can say it. No way I can do either though.

I listened to it in south central Alaska last nite, one mile from Skilak Lake. Skilak Lake is 500 feet deep 5 miles wide and 20 miles long. I can't imagine paddling across Skilak Lake much less Lake Illiamna. One thing for sure, the scenery had to be out of this world.
