Yes, Janice named these lakes after members of a family who once had a homestead on saganagons and a resort on saganaga. What is the family name?

Are we supposed to say the three sisters' names or guess which one Lake C is?

I'll guess Minerva.

Mocha has 2 of the names correct. Dorothy and Betsy.

Betsy's book was called "Betsy And Saganaga: One Life, One Lake".

However, the name of lake C remains and the final piece to this puzzle.

Final Clue: Sister "C" was once married to Betsy's husband.

Well done bstrege! Charlotte it is. Thanks for the link as well. I hope you all enjoyed today's history lesson. I think it is a cool story.

Janice the ranger has been around a long time and we had a lengthy discussion about those lakes last summer before Lauren and I headed that way. Not too many people take that path as the Silver Falls portage is much quicker and easier. Janice told me that she's tried to get those lakes officially named using her names, but runs into typically government road blocks. The link below contains more information which talks about Charlotte.

Anyway, a trip report is in the works for this adventure. Stay tuned....

You're up bstrege!!

No idea so I'm guessing with the help of google maps.
Bock Lake
I like that name. Bock Lake. I must go there sometime.

YES! Mocha in on to something! Not all lakes have registered names that appear on maps. We will get to that piece of the puzzle later.

For now. From my earlier clues which lake (A,B or C) is it?

It's gotta be C because of that little island

Not yet. This is a bit of a puzzle. :)

This leads to the portage coming from the south.

This is the portage leading out towards the north.

Correct, C it is. Now for the puzzle to determine the lakes name. Hope you guys like your history. :)

You shall not pass until you talk to this person on your way through Cache Bay. Rumor has it this person who named these lakes is particularly found of chocolate. Who is this person?

Yes, the Powell family.

Next clue, these 3 lakes were named after 3 sisters who were associated rather closely to the Powells. In fact, one of the sisters has a book written about her and her time on Saganaga.
