Those are some sweet DIY Tip Ups, is there anywhere I can find plans if I want to make some?

Instead of the twist tie, I've been using a bubber band. Bring spares.

Sleeping bag - yes
pad - check
cot - yeah
booze - a given, for sure.

But. I was unable to get to my campsite. The logging road was rutted with soft snow and my toboggan keep falling into the rut. I slogged around and headed back to the truck after getting about halfway. I'm blaming the four-wheelers, not my age.

I love that whip-up setup! Trout trap!"

That's a Jaw-Jacker. It adds fun to the trout fishing!

Leaving tomorrow for four nights, Hiawatha National Forest. I expect to drive a logging road to my site. I have a nice stash of wood there.

Did you have wooden snowshoes? I find I can create a new track most of the time."

Snowshoes might have helped. Between the ruts, the snow was crowned and the toboggan slid sideways into the tire tracks. It was rutted badly due to the warm weather and slushy snow cover... need colder temperatures. I had hoped to drive in.
