We were stopped at the portage from Oyster River by the violent churning of the lake. One group had already determined they couldn't find any open sites nearby and were camped near the portage (they had failed to find the first site on the south side of Oyster.) I didn't want to do that. I sent a few to try and find a land route to this campsite but that was futile. I set out in canoe and set a course for the south side of the lake. The site is a bit obscured by greenery but it has a small sand beach that extends down the shore. The site has just enough room for 3 tents. The fire grate area is decent.
