Camp Notes: Awesome camp site! Plenty of space for tents, as well as hammocks. Had 3 tents in our group just fine. When we arrived, we did find MANY discarded fish guts in the water, as well as chainsaw chips and tree's that were cut up by a chainsaw. Saw couple of very large boats scoping out the site, so assume it was traffic from Canada that produced this debris unfortunately. In the 4 days we were there, we saw 4 motorboats, but definitely was not an issue on the water while paddling. There was evidence of the boats powerloading into shore as well, evidenced by deep hole. Beach was awesome to swim at. Thunderbucket was a bug haven, and lots of poison ivy off the trail.

Camp Notes: As noted great site with a sandy beach, private bay, and dead-on view of the sunset each night. At least 3 good tent pads, probably more if you wanted. However, this site had more visible impacts of human travel, both of the standard variety (bits of plastic, tiny bits of food) and odd ball (a 15 foot stick left buried UPRIGHT in the sand?) Please take care of this site. We cleaned a bit but it's seeing a lot of traffic .

Camp Notes: I've been to a lot of sites over ten years of visiting BWCA and this is the luxury spot of them all! Massive 100 yard beach front perfect for taking a swim, nice sandy beach extending back about 40 yards before it enters the woods. East shore means Western winds come off the lake and keep the bugs at bay a bit. Fishing is decent right off the beach, but you can walk the shore line to the North and South and catch bass all day then take the boat out and take your chances for lake trout. Walk in the shallow water and find clams (good eating). The boat landing is anywhere you'd like along the beach front. We setup the Noah 16' tarp right over the fire pit as the sun can be a bit much in the later afternoon. Great open sky for viewing stars. Just a fantastic spot for a large group. Yea, I know finding a good camp spot is like finding a secret fishing hole - we don't speak of these things in public. So if you're just two people, leave this one for larger groups to enjoy.
