I just sat down at work to check this wonderful site (ahem, before I clocked in of course), forecast is 82 degrees here in north Chicago and all of the sudden my mouse hand feels a tickle. Sweet God Almighty I just flattened the first mosquito of the year! Anybody else a little sick from what all this warm weather might mean for the bugs this year?

I'm hoping all the bugs will come out now, then we get a hard freeze to get rid of them all before our May trip.
Once again "Deet" may be our best friend this year unfortunately.

I was nicked by one last night here in Blaine. Very disappointing. BTW it died a quick and painless death.

They've been around since January here and I seriously doubt if we'll have a freeze to kill them off - tho I hope that will happen up north.

Hey fadersup, what's behind your name? Looks like you're in sound/mixing/editing?

Yep - was in Chicago most of this past week and got my first bite of the year on Friday. Disgusting. Jumped on a plane back to San Diego ASAP (and to 58 degrees and raining no less). Al Gore is beaming somewhere...

took the dogs out to the local lake today and found 15+ ticks when we got home. No skeeters yet but I'm sure their close behind.

Mosquito's and lilac leaves here too. Also deer and bear ticks. But the be all, tell all, are the Spring peepers. Heard them last night 3/17. A new record by 11 days in the 19 years I've taken note.

Come on out and visit us out here in the desert. Dont have many of those critters out here. They like water for some reason and the nearest water of any kind is about 10 miles away. Warm days, cool nights, clear skies and snow int he mountains, Gotta luv it.

Go for the breeders.
