Clearwater going to be busy. Probably in March overnight, plan to daytrip earlier in that area(just stack a pile of wood for me and leave the fire on). Also hope to snowshoe areas of burn if I can get down the Tomahawk trail in the winter. Use to do a lot of january camping and still plan maybe one trip this year during that time, problem is the nights are long than.

my daughter wants to go up to the bwca next week. i'm up for it. but i am thinking that a trip in the south dakota badlands might work better with the goofy winter we have been having. that is the extent of my plans so far.
Plan on heading into Big Moose lake in early January, took some great photos there in Sept.,and want to get the same shots in the winter.also,I want to catch some of the walleyes that I released in the fall.
Border Route Trail in late January - 1st snowshoe trip ever with DIY Pulks we just made. Looking for tips on trout fishing, have never done it through the ice.
Be Prepared - when that fails, adapt and overcome!
I was up in the bwca dec 18- 22 went into wood lake. caught a good number of pike and a few walleyes and perch and a monster small mouth. It was not my first choice in lakes but conditions were tricky.Anyway my next trip may be in late Jan for a few days. Then I am planing a trip in march for a week. I have not planned my routes yet. I am waiting to see about snow condtions and to see if I will be solo.

There is a winter trail off of FR464 heading south. It should be marked. I do not know if it has a name or not. I have never been but I have driven by it. I hope this helped.
Good luck northern pike spearing. Did a lot for about a year in the BWCA a few years back. Curious, what are you using for you fish shelter while spearing?

Pinetree, I use an eskimo quickfish pop up shelter. They are lightweight and set up very fast. Also, when the shelter is in the bag it can be carried on your back.
