UPDATE: FOUND in last pack. A kid grabbed them after all.
LOST. Three green fish-tank-sized nets. The "point" campsite on Upper Pauness just past the 40 rod portage to Lower Pauness. They were hanging on a tree by the wooded western tent pad (down below the fire grate and on the lake side of the tent pad area), and likely blew off and were overlooked somehow on packup. No need to return, just get them out of the wilderness please. Thanks!

Found June 2nd – Fish Stringer on south end of Agnes (BWCA) right before heading into the river towards Nina Moose. Bright yellow nylon cord with green plastic clips.
Found- Small fishing net on first portage south of Nina Moose lake right at the landing on the North side of the portage. I found the net on June 1st and packed it out.
I live in the northwest suburbs, so if you believe this net is yours and it is worth trekking to my place to get it, it's yours. I do expect you to describe it when you contact me just to make sure it is yours.

FOUND: small camo backpack with meds, etc. on Lily Pad Lake portage toward Silver Falls. Looks like it spent the winter at the landing. Pack was bug infested and not saved. Other items usable. philclarke@charter.net
Lost 3 Tent Poles in tan bag, somewhere between Cherokee (campsite northeast of 140 rod portage) and northern most campsite on Jack. We had lunch on the 240 rod portage on the south side of South Temperance and could have been left there but it's only a guess.
LOST CAMP SAW --- Left at Campsite on Shade Lake on 06/13/2011 Green handle Sven folding camp saw. It's a simple but wonderful tool that we have had for many years. Unfortunately, it seemed to evade our eyes on the sweep of the campsite we did before leaving. I'd really appreciate if someone found this and can let me know. Thanks. Michael mfisch67@gmail.com
Will probably make a trip report with more details of this as well in the near future, but thought to post in Lost & Found for now.

One white water bottle with sticker from "ELEPHANT REVIVAL". It was near a large waterfall in the Jackfish Beartrap area map. Maybe Niki Lake to Wagosh Lake? It seems like we did 100 portages!!!!! (419)953-9789 (Tom)
Lost: Men's titanium wedding band on Tuesday July 5th. Most likely somewhere along the portage from Lower Pauness to Shell or the portage from Shell into Little Shell. Small chance it could have been lost on the portage on the Little Indian River Sioux North coming from EP14 towards Upper Pauness, but don't think so. Could be in the water, and if so, it's gone forever...
The chances of finding this after I have searched already for about 4-5 hours is very small, but if you do, please contact me at svondracek@new.rr.com. Much appreciated.
FOUND: June 23, 2011 - A pair of Sunglasses on the top-side of the falls on the island located at Lower Basswood Falls -Crooked Lake. Looks like they were there for a few weeks - screws were starting to rust. Let me know what they look like and I'll get them back to you.

LOST - lost on Thursday, July 14th at Moose Lake Entry Point 25. We left a sleeping bag at the entry point as our youth group left the BWCA. It was in a black plastic garbage bag. There was another large group loading into a school bus at the same time that we were loading our vehicles, we are guessing that it ended up with the other group, but we don't know who that group was. Thanks for any help or suggestions.
FOUND: July 28th on portage from Jasper to Alpine, pack with stuff in it. one of our guests brought it in so if you think it's yours give a call 1-800-328-3325 or click on my little envelope and describe the contents.
Hi all, I left a hat at the portage out of Crab into Burntside Lake coming out of the BWCA today. Tan, broad brimmed (brim all the way around) hat. On the front is embroidered Rose Bowl 1999 and also has the U. Wisconsin "motion W" on it.
I' d be VERY grateful if someone were to come across it--please let me know. Left behind on 7/31/11. Thanks!
Mmm, sounds yummy. We will be heading out to Seagull Lake August 10th. Where should I look for it?

LOST- We left a Gander Mountain spinning out fit at the south east camo site of Lynx lake on Saturday Auguast 2,2011. Would really like to have it back if someone finds it. Please contact me/ willing to pay for shipping.
FOUND: Zebco UL rod/reel spinning combo. Hooked in ~16 feet of water on Lake Agnes (BW). Oh, and the big northern that probably pulled it in? My bowman caught and released that nearby, too.
"You can observe a lot by watching." -- Yogi Berra
Pinepatch, it was nice running into you as you exited the BWCA. I did track down your fishing pole. I had to pry it out of the hands of the folks who camped at your site the same day you left. They were very nice and understanding. Since the pole did not produce as many fish for me as it did for you, I will certainly send it back to you.
Soledad-- Thanks a bunch- I can not express my thanks enough.... Truly amazing the kindness and generosity I have found on this site and coming to the BWCA!!!!!
Lost: Wristwatch with green strap on portages into Nina Moose on Aug. 11. I cant believe I didn't feel it fall off! Looked down to check the time at the take out and it was gone!

At least your name was on your items. Shouldd get a call soon. At least I would call you if I found it.
Found a pair of prescription "clip on" glasses. Look like the old school clip-on sunglasses but they had a prescription to them. Found in the sand a couple feet into the water Jack side of Jack to Wierd portage. I had them in my pocket. Sorry, they fell apart when I washed the shorts after getting home. I can send the pieces if needed.

LOST: Lightweight, pea-green Duluth-type pack. Accidentally taken by an outgoing party from entry point #16 Moose River Portage on Saturday, Aug 20th around 1:30 PM. Initials on front flap are hand written "MBS" or perhaps "MB." Contents include 2 thermarests, 2 sleeping bags, a 2 person REI dome tent, and several stuff sacks with misc items (including prescription eyeglasses). It has taken me several years to accumulate this gear, and I will really appreciate getting it back!
If found, please contact Mary Beth St. Hilaire at marybsaint@hotmail.com. A reward is offered. Thanks!
FOUND: dark blue (navy?) color baseball hat. Not sure the logo on the front so see picture. Was found on August 26th (2011) on the Rog Lake side of the Rog Lake-Alpine Lake portage.

Lost in June in Sea Gull Lake during high winds. Pair of Smith toaster (tortoise style)sunglasses. Incident very similar to a recent article in the Boundary Waters Journal, though I was able to stay dry. If you happen to hook them on a line, no need to return, just pack them out.
Lost. A Gerber Rivermate PFD knife either on the Hog Creek portage or from the parking lot to the landing. It fell off the webbing of my PFD on 8/28/2011.
Watch out for that rock!!!........ Oooo.... That's going to leave a mark...
Found on our trip.... Fleece mid layer along the Horse River; empty & punctured spraypaint can, can of Copenhagen near our campsite on Thursday Bay; 3 jiffy pops in various stages of cremation in the fire grate, several nails (including a HUGE one!) also in the fire grate of our last site on Gun.
Oh yeah, some rods w/o reels too. Karma must be a bitch, seeing as these were also found at the same trashed site on Gun. Next time pack out your jiffy pop and you'll likely remember your poles.
Lost - hooks, rapalas, jig heads, and a mepps spinner, plus a few tent stakes, some skin, and blood at various places.
LOST: Wooden Canoe Paddles of significant sentimental value and two green lifejackets. Left at parking lot on Hungry Jack Road by the portage between Moss Lake and Hungry Jack Lake. Reward Offered. Please email or call 218-348-9400. Thanks!
Found #1: Hat, tan with DeKalb logo and hunting dog graphic. Along shore near portage from Heritage to Lynx. It had been there a while and the fabric was starting to rot. Just letting you know that the hat was found and trashed.
Found #2: Black Carhartt jacket on portage between Upper and Lower Pauness. Was on portage on Sat., Sept. 24. If yours, please get in touch. It was a heavy bugger to add to my solo bag (thus my picking it up on the way out, rather than on the way in). Also phoned in to WELY.
Found #3: Bundle of rods/reels on portage between Upper and Lower Pauness. Contact me with details to claim. Also phoned in to WELY.
Found #4: Single athletic shoe, GRID, size 8, at EP 14 (LIS North) on Wednesday, Sept. 28. I have a suspicion this belongs to a lady solo paddler who was on the way in while I was on the way out. I didn't want to leave it at the EP with rain forecast for the night.

Please do not post jokes and other commentary in this thread so that this thread is efficient."
Adam, do you think it appropriate to move this thread to the top level for the forum (at the same level as "Listening Point - General Discussion")? That would increase the visibility of the Lost and Found thread to new visitors who may be hoping to find their items. Making things easier on new visitors might turn them into regular participants.
I liked the way you included the link to the prior year's L&F thread in this one. If you do decide to move it up one level, you could keep just the current year there, with links back the prior year(s) in the initial post.
Andrew

This has nothing to do with Lost & Found, just don't know how to thank each of you for all you have done for Amok's family. The "Tribute" song and pictures will always be with us. We are eternally grateful.
Forgotten. Lynx lake, site directly across from the portage from Little Shell. Opinel wood handle folding knife, resting on a fire grate log. October 2nd. Chances are its still there!
