It should be a great trip and experience, they always whiz by me when I am on skis. The sled dog drivers are always courteous that I have met.

I've done three dogsledding trips with Wintergreen out of Ely. All were multiday cold-camping trips; a different loop each year, with two guides and six to eight clients each time. On my first trip, there were as many clients as spots on the sleds, and the guides skied. On the later trips, the clients alternated skiing and riding. I have nothing but positive things to say about the Wintergreen experience; I'd be happy to answer any questions folks might have. In addition to the camping trips, they offer lodge-to-lodge trips, where you sleep indoors every night, and day trips from their own lodge.

I'm currently saving up to take one of the Wintergreen 'Arctic' trips in a year or two.

We do a family wintergreen trip every year. I cannot recommend them enough! The food, the service and the expertise is top notch. They do a great job and while expensive, it is totally worth the money!

No experience out of Ely but lots from the Gunflint. Nothing beats lake trout ice fishing. Have fun!
