So last May - while camping on Fourtown - at the site right at the first set of rapids leading to Horse - (the one that has the portage site on it... - anyways - behind the toilet was 1 (one) boot. It looked like an old Matterhorn or jungle boot.
We made up stories on why it was there including the owner poo'd on his shoe so he had to leave it there, or was hidden by a "jackass" of a friend.... or left there by a veteran remembering a fallen friend.
Any other theories? (Fun or possibly factual welcome).

quote nofish: "I suspect the boot is there so that campers can kick the crap out of themselves. Its very useful if you get a little backed up after eating camp food for a week."
With no Med Centers in the area, it's a good way to HEEL that condition. Were there directions on the boot, like "TONGUE in CHEEK"?

Its where the wild guy first decided to start his epic adventure in the parks earlier this summer. As he sat there, contemplating life and the questionable choice of old summer sausage and cheese that had seen better times for lunch, a vision came to him of running wild and free in the Canadian shield. Off came the boots and there they sat next to the throne. One was eventually taken by an industrious pine squirrel to have a new addition to his nest so there was a space for it's mother in law to visit.
The rest is history.

Perhaps it's the mate of one in a deep fissure in the rock at a campsite I visited in June with my boys. There was a single boot, and numerous articles of clothing and other items. It was too narrow and deep to retrieve anything, or we would have packed it all out.
When I first saw it there, I started looking for bones. It was eerie. I can't remember, at the moment, exactly where it was, except that it was one of the sites we visited while on the Sioux-Hustler loop.
