I am looking for a song for our annual Quetico slide show. A group of four guys, very close friends, that once again had a grand time. I am looking for that up-beat song, with some good appropriate lyrics for a group of friends on a get-away type of trip. Ideas?
I've had this one stuck in my head since the last full moon. It's a happy up beat song from the early 70's that sort of fell out of the way. I don't know how to highlite and reference music like most of you do but the name of the song is "Dancing in the Moonlight".
I've used 'On My Way' by Rusted Root, 'Rocky Road to Dublin' by Drop Kick Murphies, 'No Rain' by Blind Melon, 'The Man Comes Around' by Johnny Cash, and 'The Adventures of Raindance Maggie' by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Theres also a good song from the movie 'Into the Wild' by Eddie Vedder, but I can't remember the name of it.

Do you mean the song performed by Van Morrison? Great song.

No: I think you're confusing "Moondance" by Van Morrison with this one. It was a flash-in-the-pan from around -72 by a little known group that called itself King Harvest.
Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.
Who can explain using copyrighted songs in personal videos? You Tube agreement says you must own all copyrights to music used in your videos. How are you folks using other people's music? Or are you simply not posting them for public consumption?

Legally, you can't do it if you don't own the copyright. If you've seen any of my videos, you'll notice I only put up songs that I have written and recorded. . You can, however, attempt to get permission from the copyright owner (not an easy thing to do) and youtube allows it. I have given permission to folks myself.
These days, youtube has a way of scanning videos for copyright infringement. If they find one, they notify you but don't usually make you take it down, advising you of such and that the owner/licensee of the copyright can put up ads on your video or demand you take it down.
I do believe, however, that if you don't make the video public then you are not infringing and can post it for only personal use. Personal use copyright was allowed by the Supreme Court in the famous Sony/Betamax case years ago.
(HoHo, our resident copyright expert is in Quetico or he'd probably chime in with more info)
Hope that helps.
We all have to believe in something. I believe I'll go paddle.
I'd go with "Lucky Man" by the Verve.. Perfect music & lyrics IMHO... This is not the old Emerson lake & Palmer song... Staple it together by jack Johnson would t be bad either...
