I bought a pair of Chota Hippies for my latest trip up north and have to say I was pretty impressed. Kept my feet and clothing dry. Easy to put on and fit my boots. For wetfooting they really work well. All in all a good experience. Anyone have any issues, good or bad, with them?
Watch out for that rock!!!........ Oooo.... That's going to leave a mark...
I think their time has come and gone, its the 21th century. It is fun to see a burned out hippie every now and then and remember that for by the grace of God you could be him.
as with any stocking-foot wader you must buy your boots a size bigger to accommodate the neoprene sock. That is if they are as thick as most neoprene wader socks are.
I have looked at these, and considered them.

I like mine a lot. Used them with the combination of a ULA Rain Kilt the last week of May that rained 4 of 6 days. Great combination and I was dry the entire time from both rain and wet footing.
I tried to get a pair this past month at Piragis, but they were out of the size smalls both times I stopped in. I wanted to try them on before I pulled the trigger as the mediums seemed too large in the foot.
I really like the idea that my feet wouldn't look like shriveled white cadaver feet at the end of a day of wet footing. I also just personally hate having wet cold socks on... I do it... but I don't like it.
I used to wet foot all the time when I was younger...but I hate it now..Last year I tried it again, and even with good shoes, and a good pair of wool socks, I got the blister from hell.

I just don't know that there's a perfect paddling shoe that will work well portaging. Is it bad juju to take a pair of hiking boots AND a pair of paddling shoes? Short portages are the real inconvenience when "two footing."
