Though I love both, I'm definitely a sunrise girl. Dawn is my favorite time of day. as soon as the sky starts to lighten and the birds are singing, I'm awake. It's so peaceful and beautiful at that time of day. And the fishing is usually awesome in the morning. There's nothing better than sitting at a campsite greeting the sun with a fresh cup of coffee. I always get impatient waiting for everyone else to wake up.
While it is hard to choose, I will also have to go with sunrise. On a canoe trip I am often up at first light so that I am sitting with my coffee waiting for the sun to make an appearance. It is those few minutes before you see the sun that the world is the most beautiful.
Nothing wrong with a gorgeous sunset, either, though. :-)

I could not have said it better myself. Sunrise for sure! It think it is the best part of the day!

I prefer sunsets, but here's a pretty sunrise. It really was as golden as the photo shows. I've taken many evening photos were the blues and reds are more intense than what my eyes saw, but this photo shows that morning as it really was.
I like both but I find that I enjoy more sunsets. In the evening I'm relaxing in camp and can take it all in. In the morning I'm busy with breakfast and breaking camp. I might notice, even snap a photo but I don't sit there and watch it happen
When I do base camp and am not trying to get on my way, I'm usually up too late to enjoy the sunrise.

On canoe trips, definitely sunset. But anyone who knows me knows that I am not an early riser, so that is all I see.
However, when I am at work, I usually see both. Sunset when I'm at work, sunrise when I'm on my way home to get some sleep. The sky can be so beautiful to see as I drive home, a nice "end" to my day.

Beautiful photo missmolly!"
You're just sayin' that 'cause you're orange and that was an orange morning.
Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.
Gonna say sunset. Because after that the stars come out and hopefully Northern Lights. I think this is a planet though. Thomas Lake

I don't know that I could say one or the other is my "favorite," but I do really treasure sunrises, especially in midsummer between 4:00 and 5:00 in the morning.
Sunrise. It's the dawn of a new day. A new day of exploring, traveling, fishing, lounging and all that good jazz. Sunset just means the day is over and all I have to look forward to is a couple evening drinks and starwatching and lighted bobber fishing. But Sunsets are more spectacular.
