Did everyone read, Michelle Bachmann voted yes to open up the BWCA to boats, ATV's as well as any other type of motorized vehicle inside the BWCA

So did Cravaack, Peterson, Paulson, Walz, and Kline, so this isn't just a Bachmann move.

Interesting. I'll be watching this one.

I voted for her during her first Run for the office. Shortly there after I've loved her and I've hated her. Now I wish she would just go back to Iowa and not be heard from again.

To read it it confuses me and maybe I need a a interpretation of what it says. Maybe that is what they wanted? Confusion?

Again, nothing is really changing with in the BWCA. Fishing and Hunting are already legally authorized activities. They will have to figure out what recreational shooting means, but in my opinion the multiple use act, would allow that to take place within other aspects of the Superior National Forest.

As for "every person with a fish pole or gun running motorboats and snowmobiles all over the wilderness", well it is just plain not the case. In Section 105(E)3. It clearly states that it is not the intent of the legislation to "authorize or facilitate commodity development, use, or extraction, or motorized recreational access or use." In other words it is spelled out clearly in the legislation that this DOES NOT authorize or change any rules regarding motorized use in the wilderness.

It would be interesting how the Congress people interpet this. Sounds might you are right but I always wonder did somebody throw something we are Missing? A loop hole or something confusing that can be determined different.

Really as a hunter and fishermen I see no reason for this bill at all. We can hunt and fish in these areas now. It is purely a political and getting closer to election so some have to fill their bag full of goodies.

In my opinion this bill was a result of the many non-hunters/fishers out there, that are slowly trying to eat away at those public places where one can hunt or fish.

I don't think it will impact what is happening in the BWCA at all, except for the fact that there are groups that would like to see that no hunting takes place in the BWCA. And this law would protect our right to hunt and fish within the Superior National Forest, including those lands within the BWCA.

Pinetree, this is a federal act. Not every state has an individual’s right to hunt and fish written in their state constitution. I find this bill as only a chance to snub the PETA type people.

Hey now! What did we do to you?

Y'all can keep her up there, thank you very much. We had enough of her when she still thought she had a snowball's chance at the Presidency.

I think she was home grown in your corn state(Iowa). Just want to send her back to where she called home.

you guys should feel blessed to have such a great congress woman to represent you and try to keep others from being able to take your rights away. down here in Ohio, we had a former senator ,trying to take away our farms that have been in the same family for over a 100 years. just because they were with in a water shed . that has never had an issue with pollution or dumping or any thing else. blessed you are to have such a great representative of your state.
