The boundary waters saved my life. I have a religious feeling about them. It is difficult to make many people understand why I feel the way I do. I have tried a few times. But usually, I just get a sideways look.

Most of us zealots get that look. Thanks for the report.
For any one who read my trip report before right now, please re-read. I decided to put it ALL in. I think the additional material gives a better idea why I have a religious feeling for this place and why I feel that my life was saved by my experience.
Anyway, thanks for looking. jim

I get it - my first trip was also in 1978 as part of a high school trip to the Q. My "enlightenment" was more gradual, but I remember it first dawn on me up there...
quote TomT: "That's a real nice story. Thanks for posting. Did anyone take pics?
" Some pics were taken. When we dumped, Meghan's camera was ruined, so those were lost. My sister did take some photos, but she hasn't been able to find them. I had some, but they were destroyed in a basement flood at my house back in the 90's. So I only have the pictures in my mind.
