The wife and I are celebrating our 25th next June on Basswood. I have never fished for lake trout and would like to try. Any suggestions on where to fish for them on the U.S. side and what baits to use.

Unfortunately, nearly all of the lake trout waters of Basswood are in Canada. However, you can catch them in American waters off of US Point, and near Bayley Bay. Just don't expect fast fishing or many fish.
