I've heard Malberg lake is a good spot to catch fish. going up mid Aug and its on the trail were going to take and wondering if anyones fished it and has any advice??

Was there this spring. Fished right in front of site 1054. Never had any reason to try another spot!

Smallmouth in the rapids by the huge boulder on the portage from Koma. Walleyes are plentiful especially in the areas where the lake narrows and the current gets pinched. Very nice lake with very good fishing!

I will not add much about fishing Malberg except that is is a good fishing lake. What I did want to tell you about is there is a persistent bear on Malberg lake now so use caution.

Walleyes on rattlin raps near lily pads (!) bluegills in the pads as well.

rattle raps huh, ill give it a try, ive done well for smallies with them but never walleyes. thanks for the info
