Wow...just as exciting the second time around.

You talk of a video you took of the incident. Any chance you have it posted or can get it posted on youtube?

Thanks for sharing!

Vanny,
Great Job sounds like Man versus Nature and Nature one. The other part that's an underlying message that took me a while to figure out, is that Dad's are not near as dumb as I thought, when I was that age.
Great report

Why didn't you guys gather up all the food after the bear ran away the first time?

BTW, I had the same thing happen to me on my first trip up there. He got all our food the frst night. We spent the rest of the week at a campground.

I hope you can post the video. Very entertaining story indeed!

I personally don't have a copy of the video. Hopefully Chilly or I can get our hands on a copy, transfer it over from VHS and get it online...

I just copied it from VHS to DVD. Not too sure how to get it from dvd onto the my PC. The black bear at night did not show up (for the most part) on video as the who ever was filming the bear part kept der distance and was not overly concentrating on the aim of the camera. The part when he charged us was kinda funny to hear as we all say 'oh shiet" at the same time and take off but you cant really see much.

Great story - thanks for sharing! Sounds like Yogi had learned a few tricks in his lifetime that made him smarter than the average bear.

Using the canoe as your bait bucket. Great idea until you reach the "fast getaway" moment.

Fun report! I love how y'all can make fun of yourselves. ;-) You and Chilly wrote very entertaining accounts.

So, has Chris been back?

Oh yeah, he's been on every trip since than. He's a die hard like the rest of us. I'll keep bugging him to get him hooked on this website

Reading trip reports of an area is often an excellent resource.
Must say, I didn't expect such an entertaining read. Great report and thanks for the laughs.

I learned in the mid 90's not to use the "perfect tree". I once used the canoe as a large live well to keep our fish alive for a good breakfast. Fortunately we didn't need to make a quick escape.

Very funny report, I sure enjoyed it.

From the sounds of it lately that bear or offspring is now more likely to be found in the Malberg Lake area but who knows for sure. Polly Lake Bluff Charge - Version 1.0
