Hey all- We just got out of the BWCA on Saturday and we had an excellent trip with great fishing. We killed them on Horse with just jigs and live minnows. The bites were light at first, but we sat at the mouth of the Crooked River into Horse and caught walleyes all night. Then we portaged up to Gun and sat in the back channel and caught 25 walleyes in 2.5 hours on one day, some of us using a jig with a Gulp minnow and a live leech, or just a jig and a leech. We were throwing back 3lb walleyes in the one stretch of the channel! Needless to say, we ate like kings, but were also able to throw a ton of fish back and only kept the eaters. I heard this week it is going to be a little colder up there, but at least for our trip, it was good timing. We had a full day of cold and rain, but for the most part, we got lucky! Good luck to everyone!
