The DNR has an official definition of ice out if I remember right.

I don't think it would be practical to canoe with any ice left. Murphy's law would be in full force--whereever you needed to go would be where the ice would be blocking your way.

Ok everyone, what is your definition of ice out? Can a person navigate lakes if Ice out has not happened completely?
