Be sure to get out early on Sawbill - it will be a long paddle to Ada creek. About 5 miles..
If you have time take route through the portages on the North East end of cherokee to town lake to vesper - gasket - cam.... VS. cherokee to snub to sika to n. tempeance. Be carfule on the cherokee creek if it has been dry. Also lots of bugs in the creek certain times of the year.
This route is pretty cool, although the Vesper to Gasket portage 75 rods (.21 miles) goes over the Laurentian Divide and is a tough one. But the typography and wildlife viewing ioppertunities make it worth it. The west shore line on Brule lake climbs close to 2000 feet, you will paddle along it as you paddle 1.7 miles to the portage to s. temperance. If you have time take a side trip into Wench lake for some good brooke trout fishing. I will say the end of you trip has some decent portages - The temperence river portage .7 miles and kelly to burnt (.65 mile) and burnt to smoke (.33) to sawbill. (.33) .. be sure to try and lighten your load by then.
Have fun and be safe..

I've only been to the bwcaw once before (and that was a long time ago), and am planning on a three day loop: Sawbill to Cherokee to Kelly. Any advice on the what the area is like? Highlights? Fishing?
