Does a Solar Shower count? If so yes!

Picked up one of these for my trip:

Soladec charger

It has an integrated 4000 mAh battery that charges while it's in the sun so you can charge your items after hours. Has a handy light and is a bit smaller than a DVD case. Charges my iPhone 4s for about 2.5 X. also seems to charge OK through a clear drybag. I Plan to use it to charge camera, GPS, and some Eneloop batteries for my headlamp.

Cheers

I have a Goal Zero Nomad 13.5 and Guide 10 Plus Adventure kit that is a 7.5 Nomad Panel. They work well, some of the nicer stuff out there but solar isn't all it's cracked up to be. To get an effective charge you will need to adjust the angle thruout the day, they need a compass linked pivot stand that follows the sun so you can just leave it while out or while it's in the boat. Most people would be better off bringing some high performance battery packs instead, they work any time of day, cloudy days, much less hassle to work with, first step is to figure out what amount of energy you will need for a trip and go from there.

I was at REI and saw some new solar chargers, radios and gadgets. Who has taken up solar powered items to the BWCA and what were they?
