You're going to love it. Make sure the boys are left wanting more. If I were you, I'd call the outfitter and ask them the same thign you asked us. Have fun!

EP 36 (Hog Creek) is a nice place to start. It empties into Perent Lake which has some pretty good Walleye and Northern fishing. Good lake to base camp on. You can paddle down the Perent River to the burn area east of Isabella. Only one portage in, a 10 rod jaunt, then down the creek. There are a couple of beaver dams to pull over. Otherwise go to Kawishiwi head north to Polly. A few more portages but a beautiful area. Polly is a good fishing lake. Finally you could head over to Brule Lake, set up a base camp and explore some of the local lakes. Fishing on Brule is good but it can be a handful if it gets windy. I suppose I could say that about any lake.

+1 Horse and Fourtown are great lakes, good fishing and good daytrip options.... Another option out of Ely would be #16 Nina Moose - Agnes.

Better check and see if there are still permits available for that entry. It is a good one, that is why you should check early before planning.

After years of reading and daydreaming about going to the Boundry waters it looks like it will finally happen for me. I have the money saved, the vacation time is approved, and the wife and family are stoked about going!
I do have a problem...too many lakes and routes to choose from. I need some help! I know this should probably be in the trip planning forum and I may post something there as well but since our main objective is to fish I thought I would start with the fisher people.
My group will consist of my wife and I and our three sons ages 12 thru 9. We are using an outfitter out of Ely, going to be there the first week in July and be in the wilderness for 5 days and 4 nights. Would like to basecamp on a lake that has good fishing that time of the year that has some nice attractions nearby that we could day trip to if we wanted. We dont mind some portages and some travel to get to this basecamp. We will also be entering mid-week.
Thanks in advance to all replys!!!!
