quote Unas10: "We stayed on the eastern side at the site marked as 1803 on the maps section. It was very open, yet shaded, lots of choices for tent pads. It has a good western view for sunsets with a breeze to keep the bugs down. We had two tents and a hammock also. The only drawback was the fire pit. It was too open to the wind. We also had a very vocal and loud owl in camp a couple of nights.

It was also on the route of this beaver's morning commute.

1803 is the best one on the lake hands down.

The campsite on the point on the left as you head toward the longer portage to the Boulder River is a great site for just about everything, I stayed there for a week a couple of years ago! Several tents sites, and hammock trees!

The western most of the two sites mentioned by buzz17 is 5 star. Latrine way back in the woods but not a problem for us. Both of those sites are fairly close to each other so a loud group in one could be the only problem I see.
I would head straight for either of these sites and get an early start. Agnes is a busy lake that gets a lot of base camp and pass through traffic so late in the day campsites can be at a premium.

Campsite 1804 or 1803. Both have good fishing right from the campsite, easy access to the boulder river, and protection from a NW wind which can be brutal on Agnes. My trips were in May and our focus was fishing. 1802 is not a bad site either but there aren't many places to fish from shore.

Any recommendations on the best campsite on Lake Agnes? Me and 3 young men. 2 tents and a hammock for me. Thanx!
