On Rose I would watch where you go. That was a late freeze over. Did your friend say anything about how many fishermen there were out and about?

Fenwick- Last night I spoke with someone that was on Rose last weekend. He did not break through so Rose and Duncan are good to go. I'm assuming South would also be safe. I haven't heard anything about Clearwater or Mountain.

Let's weld a sculpture out of our snow shovels, that should do it.

All those lakes might have finally froze last night but the forecast for the end of this week/weekend looks nice. I would not trust those lakes by Jan 7th but I might have eaten more Christmas cookies than you.

Nope, as the web cams show not much snow around Ely. Snow is predicted the next 4-5 days, but in occasional showers, or slight traces.
Let's try this:
If anyone has a good idea for an outdoor project that needs little to no snow when working on it, send it to me.
I'll pick one of the suggestions, buy all equipment necessary to do the job, and announce a specific date to start!
About an hour before I begin the project, go out and purchase a new snowmobile, snow blower, skis, snow shoes, etc, because I guarantee the Ely area will have the biggest blizzard since Halloween of '91!!!

Ely web cams.

Mocha is at Gunflint Outfitters I'd guess about 20 miles from Rose. If the water is open on Gunflint I would imagine it's open on Rose. As far as snow didn't see much in Mocha's picture.

Damn ocean warming is causing this. I suppose we'll have to live with it, just like our primitive ancestors did.

Wind blew what ice was around the other day. Almost completely open according to Mocha. She was talking about a New Years paddle.

Anybody know how the ice is on the border lakes off the gunflint? I hear gunflint isn't frozen over yet but it is often the last one to do so. Thinking about going up the first full weekend in January for a winter camp and fishing of course.
