Thanks all. Consider me schooled.

quote fitgers1: "Thanks Bill. Hadn't gotten that far into it yet. So if you go into LIS south, you can ONLY go south. Go into LIS north and you can ONLY go north. Correct?
Thanks
"

That is correct.

Just to add to that, if you look at the map, they take you into completely different, unconnected areas of the wilderness. Start at the same place, go in opposite directions to different places. LIS South is also the only EP that has only 1 permit every other day, because there are very limited camping options up there unless you are very adventurous, which most people aren't.

Thanks boonie! Appreciate it

fitgers1- the short answer is: Yes, you're right - you'll want LIS North #14 for your trip, #9 to travel south down the river to Cummings, etc.

I suppose this has been asked but as before, I try to search and only get a tiny little portion of the search results box. No clue why.
The question.
What is the difference between EP 14 and EP 9? LIS North and LIS South? They look like they are 500 feet from each other. Is the LIS North EP the way to go? Looks like the parking is off the trail north side of the campground. Is parking for the LIS South right on the Echo Trail?
We are going to Lynx for one of the trips next year and while planning I noticed the two EP's right next to each other. Is one for only going south and one for going north?
Please help. I'm stupidly confused.
Thanks
