quote Franzenrp: "I've been using a XL Granite Gear compression sack for all my cloths and down sleeping bag for years. I like having totake just one sack for all these items keeps it simple. Its the first thing I load in my pack and it fills the bottom of the pack nicely." +1 on those GG XL compression sacks
I had three this trip -
1) 2 sleeping bags and odds/ends 2) Taj 3, innie, silnylon tarp 3) clothing for 2 people
I like how they stack. Used to think more efficient to put clothing into crevices of pack, but now seems more important to just have it logically together.

yep, been putting all my clothes in a compressing sack for awhile as well. When I get to camp, fold my fleece around the compression bag and use it as a pillow.

You mean I don't have to wad up my clothes in that 13 gallon white trash bag anymore? lol Seriously. Good idea. I don't think I could do that now. I just upgraded (downgraded??) my sleeping bag to two Kelty Callisto 35's. They are a little more bulky than my previous bag. Had to go this route in order to zip two bags together so my lady and I can sleep together. I actually bought three of the bags. One last years model and two this year's model. Last years is a pound + more than the new ones. I like it more though. The old model has more cotton in the inside and is loftier/thicker.

im able to put my clothing (in a stuff sack), inside a kelty compression bag and then load the sleeping bag and pillow and compress. this goes in the little kondos pack, to be carried with the canoe. clothing for 2 weeks in septemeber at that.
spare clothing...2 undies, 2 syn t's, long sleeve syn t, long johns, pants, 3 pr merino socks, 2nd fleece top...and, my indulgences, a cotton t and cotton socks.
