That is all we use a UV light. The brand of ours is UV Aquastar. Look them up on the web. It has worked in Panama, China and the BWCA with no problems at all.

There is the MSR Miox that uses batteries. Basically takes the Chloride from salt to sterilize the water.

Anyone ever hear of a batt. operated purifier.I know about gravity feed filters.Guess I'm just gettig lazy in my old age.
