If I remember the lecture at the Wolf Center in Ely from September isn't a brush wolf and a coyote the same thing? I'm pretty sure that is what they said at the center.

Hey Kanoes,

Did you use that lure you made this year and if so what did it catch.

Looks like a Coyote to me. Here's Hokey the Wolf:

Looks like a coyote to me, but it has been a few years since I have been up close and personal with any. Maybe this is happening in the boundary waters too.
kanoes 10/08/2008 09:15PM
(couldnt resist...sorry)
Merganser 10/08/2008 09:04PM
Did you see any ACME crates in the area?
moosehumper 10/08/2008 08:35PM
so its either a coyote or a dingo jk? The pics not from the boundary waters I was just wondering. It was taken east of Itaska State Park off hwy 113.

Was the Road Runner anywhere nearby?
kanoes 10/08/2008 08:02PM
i think its a dingo...yet another invasive species.

Wile E. Coyote.....

Nice catch on that camera! I believe it's a coyote- look at the ear set. The coyote ears are a bit higher and closer together on the skull, than those of a wolf. It's hard to tell size from the photo.
